Books
Books are a great passion of mine, and reading and writing occupies a big part of my life. I do read a bit, you see. These books, I want you to read as well.
Mists of Avalon by Marion Bradley is another story about the legend of Arthur, but oh, how much more it is. I know it sounds boring with the legend of Arthur seen through the eyes of the women involved, but actually it’s amazingly well-told. It never gets boring for a single second. I have no idea how Bradley managed to do that, but she did. And I’m so grateful for it.
The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke. I read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by the same author, and really loved it. The Ladies of Grace Adieu is sort of written in the same style: England 19th century, with a tinge of magic and Fearie, the land that lies next to England. And… oh, I won’t start describing it here. Takes too long. But The Ladies of Grace Adieu is set the same way. It is a series of short-stories with people such as Mr Strange and the Duke of Wellington as heroes (both seen in Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell), but also many others. I really love the book (as far a I’ve come (about 150 pages)) and is seriously saying that everyone have to read it. That one and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
Ringdrotten by J. R. R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings in “Nynorsk”) – I’ve read the book i English and I really loved it, both times. So then I just started reading this version, I think it is really good, actually, almost as good as the original (and from a hard-core follower of reading books in original, that says a lot)

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Certainly a creepy book. I have a mini-break because it got too scary.
In the meantime I’m reading
Fragile Things which is a collection of short-stories and poems by the wonderful Neil Gaiman. They are pretty creepy as well, but at least they are short. I might be sick, but I love the story Babycakes.
